certified romana's pilates instructors level 5

joao duarte

Joao has been a Romana's Pilates Instructor since May 2018. For those of you who can't get your tongue around saying his name with that Latino flare, just call him John.

Originally from Brazil, New Zealand is now home. It's a place he can connect with the outdoors, hence his interest in camping.

Joao was active growing up. He enjoyed playing football and the competitive side of tennis, which he still dips into when he's not teaching Pilates.

But when Joao entered his 30's he discovered the benefits of the Authentic Pilates Method and has never looked back.

He believes that the mind, body and spirit connection Pilates gives us can change our lives forever. His reward is seeing his clients learning, progressing and having the best quality of life.

Franker fact: Joao has a fascination for business, and does a lot of research and study in this area. That's probably why he likes likes Gordon Ramsay's management style in the TV programme 'Kitchen Nightmares'. So watch out!

jeneal rohrback, studio owner:

Jeneal grew up surrounded by a very Californian and athletic family. This gave her an inbuilt passion for anything to do with fitness and wellness, and she's tried it all, from being a serious gym bunny to extreme cross fit.

But when she discovered Romana's Authentic Pilates, she knew she'd found her calling. She completed the gruelling, 800++++ hour Instructor's Programme, and in the process became the fittest she's ever been.

She keeps a finger in competitive sport by playing inter club tennis. Here she enjoys the fast pace and cardio workout, and best of all, every muscle she's strengthened in Pilates has helped her execute those killer shots.

As well as Frank Pilates, Jeneal owns and runs an advertising recruitment business and teaches a post grad creative advertising course. These experiences give her the people and teaching skills needed to help others learn the wonderful gift handed down from Joseph Pilates.

franker fact: Jeneal loves secondhand shopping, 'Forensic Files' on Netflix, and pimping out other people's homes.
